Avalon, NJ Fishing Charters

We recently went out on a bay fishing trip and, while the fish just weren’t biting that day, I still feel the experience deserves a solid review.

First and foremost, Brandon, the Captain and Austin were excellent — knowledgeable, professional, and really worked hard to give us the best possible experience despite tough conditions. Their experience and positive attitude helped keep the mood upbeat even as the weather stayed iffy throughout the day.

The boat was clean, well-maintained, and felt completely safe, which we truly appreciated, especially given the less-than-perfect weather. It’s clear these folks take pride in their operation and prioritize passenger safety and comfort.

While we didn’t have luck landing any fish this time around, I wouldn’t hesitate to go out with this crew again. Sometimes fishing just doesn’t go your way — but the quality of the people and equipment made it a worthwhile day on the water!!

My husband and I took our grandkids on Tuesday morning june 24, 2025 on the avalon lady, had a great time, everyone was catching fish left and right. Grand daughter caught a 23 inch flounder! Captain Brandon and the crew, Mason and Chris were awesome. We have been fishing on the avalon lady and miss avalon with captain Irv for years and always had a great experience.

Took our family on the sunset cruise this week! Beautiful sites and family friendly! The kids loved getting to "drive the boat" and become honorary captains! We even got an extended tour since we got to see dolphins on our way back in! Definitely recommend this for families!

What a great group of people. Took the whole family out with Captain Brandon and Austin today. We didn’t catch much but they can’t make the fish bite. They entertained us and the kids the whole time. Would go back for sure. 100% recommend them, will be returning soon on a less windy day.

5 years in a row just the absolute best experience!!! Our group talks about the boat ride for the entire rest of the year until we do it again. Super easy communication! The best crew, the best time, and the best experience!! Looking forward to another year.

My grandson and I had a great experience. There was plenty of action. Captain and the crew were excellent. Going back next week with my other grandson.

My stepson (11) and I had a great trip on the Miss Avalon. Captain Brandon was great and did a great job finding the fish. We went on the 8hr sea bass trip and both caught lots of fish and even a few keepers. The mate Austin was awesome. He was super friendly and went out of his way to assist my step son and encourage him. Great trip because of the great crew! Thank you Capt. Brandon and Austin for a great trip! We will most definitely be back.

Wonderful day on the Miss Avalon for me and my family. We couldn’t go out to sea because of the bad weather but the captain took us out on the bay and we still had a great time!! I caught 3 flounder and I’ve never even fished before. It was exciting! The captain gives off a fun vibe and everyone on the boat felt like friends by the time we docked. The crew member that helped us all with our lines and bait was amazing, he never stood still, he was ready to help anyone that needed it!! Saw some great wildlife too that the captain would point out for us. Will definitely do this again!!!!!

Great time great crew, weather was shitty, lot of action lots of keepers, Capt wants to catch instead of fish, no keepers for us but after more than 40 years first time seeing a star gazer. Wouldn’t hesitate, money well spent, very friendly and cordial group of people. Austin does smell, I think he keeps bait in his pockets.

My brother and I have went on this boat since we were kids in 1985 same boat same story good time and good results can't say enough about captain and crew but you won't be disappointed they put you on the fish and try their best to get everyone there limit

Our lake girls retreat group had a blast! The weather was questionable, but rather than cancel, they opted for the bigger boat with more cover. Even though it poured for a while, we were dry and happy and had a great time! They obliged us by taking many pictures of our group and were so very friendly! Thank you for an excellent tour!

We went on the afternoon back bay cruise on the Avalon Lady, and had a blast! Captain Brandon is very fun and knowledgeable. He was playing Margaritaville music. I highly recommend taking this cruise! We saw all the beautiful homes and he pointed out all the wildlife and birds. Thank you!

We went out on Monday morning, 8/19 on Lady Avalon with Sam, the two crew young men were super helpful while helping with us all fishing. We also went out Thursday night for the Dolphin Cruise, 8/22 with Irv. The two crew boys RJ, and Mason were supper helpful as well. They always take great care of my Grandfather, Mac, all year round! This place is the best for fishing and boat rides! Highly Recommend!

Great experience for me and my son. The captain and his crew are the best fisherman, not to mention the nicest and most helpful, there is. Will be returning for many summers to come.

The smiles say it all! We took the Miss Avalon for a sunset cruise as part of the Avalon Yacht Club youth program and had a blast! The crew was friendly and ran a tight ship! Great tunes and the easy going route gave us a great perspective on the northern tip of 7 Mile Island. Thank you for an awesome boat ride!

We went on the maiden voyage for mahi on the September 12th , I have to say this was the best trip I’ve ever had on a charter very exciting, and the crew was exceptional. Austin the mate was very helpful, awesome person very knowledgeable for how young he is and has dad jokes very funny. Definitely recommend Miss Avalon for all of your fishing . Can’t wait for my next trip.FISH ON

I have fished on just about every head boat from Belmar to Cape May and like this one the best. The staff was most helpful and attentive I LOVE how this is a smoke-free ship where you are not allowed to smoke. The fishing action was pretty good and I caught a variety of fish such as eel, fluke, sea bass drum and albacore. Great day! I'll be back!
